Stuart Interiors
Somerset-based bespoke oak joinery specialists with over 40 years' experience designing and making period interiors for historic buildings, royal palaces, and private houses across the UK and beyond.
Established for over 40 years and featured in Country Life's Top 100, Stuart Interiors is a second-generation, family-run business specialising in bespoke design, manufacture and installation of high-end oak joinery for private residences and historic buildings.
Based at a Manor House in Kingsbury Episcopi, Somerset, the firm designs from their Somerset office and manufactures in a state-of-the-art 10,000 sq ft joinery workshop, with every piece hand-made to order by a skilled team of craftspeople. Their portfolio spans hand-carved oak staircases, coffered ceilings, linenfold panelling, bespoke libraries, period doors, and the meticulous historic re-presentation of rooms in some of England's most significant buildings.
Stuart Interiors' historic re-presentation work is particularly distinctive: working alongside research teams at bodies including Historic Royal Palaces, English Heritage, the National Trust, and Cadw, they recreate period interiors as they might originally have appeared — sourcing bespoke textiles, hand-carved furniture, replica metalwork, ceramics, and furnishings from across the world. Their clients range from the Tower of London and Stirling Castle to Somerset manor houses and private country estates.
