Devlin Plummer Stained Glass

South Norfolk stained glass studio specialising in the conservation and restoration of historic windows, with experience across more than 500 churches, cathedrals and public buildings in Norfolk, across the UK, and in Europe.

Devlin Plummer Stained Glass are specialists in the design, conservation, and restoration of stained glass windows, operating from their studios at Orchard Farm in Great Moulton, South Norfolk. Over many decades the practice has built an outstanding reputation for the sensitivity and craftsmanship of their conservation work, with commissions across more than 500 churches, cathedrals, and public buildings throughout Norfolk, the wider UK, and Europe.

The studio handles glass from the early fourteenth century to the present day, encompassing the full range of historic stained glass conditions and conservation challenges: surface corrosion on medieval glass, structural failure of lead cames, damage to ferramenta, and the installation of isothermal protective glazing to safeguard irreplaceable historic windows in situ. Their team of fully apprenticed craftsmen and stained glass artists takes a rigorous conservation science approach, preserving rather than removing the natural protective patina that forms on historic glass.

Notable commissions include the North and South transept glazing at Ely Cathedral, an ongoing programme of window conservation at Norwich Cathedral, medieval glass at St Mary the Virgin, Saxlingham Nethergate, and international work including the conservation of Royal Coat of Arms glass at St Alban's Church, Copenhagen. Devlin Plummer's combination of technical expertise and artistic sensitivity makes them one of the leading stained glass conservation studios in eastern England.
